Vodka Drinks

Is there someone you want to impress with a quick cocktail? If you would like to easily expand your drink making skills beyond a serving a straight shot, glass of wine or bottle of beer? Well then, mixed drinks with Vodka are for you. One of the great things about using Vodka is the many drinks that can be made with few ingredients. The trick is to maximize the versatility of your ingredients.

A great tip is to simply keep bottle of flavored Vodka, along with lemonade, lemon-lime soda (we like Sprite brand best) and grenadine as staples. Mixing lemonade and lemon-lime soda together is a tasty and bubbly alternative to a Sweet and Sour Mix and grenadine syrup adds special looks and flavor. Picking up a bottle of flavored Vodka, Van Gogh or Three Olives brands offer many choices. Below are four great Cherry Vodka Cocktails one for a martini glass, a rocks glass, a shot glass and a highball glass. We like Cherry Vodka not only for flavor but for the subtle play we can get from the word “cherry”. Standard or other fruit flavored Vodka work great in these drinks too.

CHERRY LEMON DROP
1 1/2 oz Three Olives Cherry vodka
Equal parts lemonade and Sprite
If you want to get fancy you can squeeze fresh lemon juice, pour ingredients (except soda) in a shaker with ice, shake well, strain into a chilled, sugar rimmed martini glass, add the Sprite and stir, then after the drink settles a bit, pour a little drop of grenadine into glass and let sink to bottom, then garnish with a slice of lemon and a cherry on a cocktail stick. That will get some attention!
(Remember never shake soda, as it can cause a mess)

DIRTY SHIRLEY
1 oz Three Olives Cherry vodka
Pour Vodka over ice into a rocks glass
Fill with Sprite, splash of grenadine, garnish with cherries

CHERRY-KAZI
1 oz Three olives Cherry vodka
1/2 oz Triple Sec
Equal parts lemonade and Sprite
Fresh squeezed lime juice
Pour ingredients, except soda, over ice, shake well
Strain into shot glasses and then add the Sprite
(Remember never shake soda as it could cause a chemical reaction – or maybe that is what you want?)
If you want to have a blast with this drink cover the shot glass with a napkin, bang it on the bar to make it fizz before shooting.

CHERRY-ADE
1 oz Three Olives Cherry vodka
pour over ice in tall highball glass
and fill glass with lemonade. You can use the grenadine here too for a sunrise affect.
